There are two types of Employee Tuition Waivers: those for State of Florida Employees and those for UCF Employees. The Registrar’s Office handles State of Florida Employees, while the UCF Human Resources department handles UCF Employees.
State of Florida Employee Tuition Waiver
Full-time state employees may be allowed to enroll for up to six (6) credit hours of eligible instruction per term on a space-available basis without payment of Tuition and fees. State Employee registration occurs on the last day of Registration for each term, at the time specified on the Academic Calendar for each term.
Should the State Employee register for the courses to which the waiver will apply prior to the prescribed date and time, the fee waiver will become invalid and the Employee will be liable for all applicable fees. It is the responsibility of the employee to register on a space-available basis only.
The tuition waiver cannot be used for courses that have increased costs. These courses include, but are not limited to: continuing education courses, independent study, supervised research, supervised teaching labs, thesis hours, dissertation, internships, practicum courses, third attempt repeat courses, co-ops, or applied individualized instruction in Music, Art, or Dance, etc.
Any State Employee who uses an Employee Tuition Waiver for approved courses must submit a completed and signed tuition waiver form to UCF Student Account Services (MH 109) by each term’s Fee Payment Deadline. See the Academic Calendar for each term for the Fee Payment deadlines.
UCF Employee Tuition Waiver
UCF offers tuition assistance to eligible employees in the form of tuition waivers, good for up to six (6) credit hours of coursework per semester. Eligible employees include USPS, A&P, Faculty, and Executive Service and courses are restricted to those taken at UCF.
