PID / NID
Tips and FAQS
- PIDs start with the first initial of your first name. The next character in PID is a number - some will start with a one and some with a zero (not an o). You will only use your PID to log on to https://my.ucf.edu. NID is for Pegasus e-mail / dial up and Web CT.
- If you need help with your NID, go to http://helpdesk.ucf.edu/nidfaq.html, click on the link to reset your NID password, and follow the directions on the next page. If you have any questions or have difficulty, please contact the Service Desk at 407-823-5117.
- Please make sure you are using Internet Explorer. Some of the other browsers are not compatible with the myUCF portal.
- Your PID is not your Social Security Number or your Campus ID Card number.
- Please make sure you are using lower case letters for both the Password and your PID.
- If you have never logged on to myUCF, or you've forgotten your PID, you will need to get your PID by clicking on the link on https://my.UCF.edu that reads What are my PID and NID?.
- The very first time you log into myUCF, you will be required to reset your Password. Your new Password be at least 6 characters long, contain at least 2 numbers and contain at least 2 numbers of symbol characters. Once you've successfully reset your Password, you may be prompted to log into myUCF with your PID and new Password.
- If you cannot reset your password yourself, and you have your password reset by the Registrars Office or a Computer Lab, it will always be reset to the Default Password, which is the letter P followed by the year, month and day of your date of birth, expressed as PYYMMDD.
- If you are still having problems with your login and you've had your password reset frequently:
Try upgrading to Internet Explorer to v6.0.26 or higher. In Internet Explorer, click on Help > Online Support to download the latest version of Internet Explorer. After downloading, installing and restarting your computer, click on Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab, look for a slider. If it is not there click the Default button, move the slider to low. This should allow the browser to accept the 1st party cookie that myUCF sends to your computer. Once you've done this click on the tab that says General in the same Internet options window and clear your temporary internet files by clicking on the Delete Files button. After this you will need to close all of the Internet Explorer windows that are open and reopen a new Internet Explorer window.
