Baccalaureate Honors

The University shall confer baccalaureate honors recognition on those students who have completed a minimum of 48 semester hours at UCF and who attain an overall grade point average that is in the upper 10 percent of the range established by all students graduating in the same college/school during the previous two years; and,

Honors awarded will be:

  • Summa Cum Laude for those students in the upper 2.5 percent;
  • Magna Cum Laude for those students in the upper five percent, but not in the upper 2.5 percent;
  • Cum Laude for those students in the upper 10 percent, but not in the upper five percent.

Records for the term of graduation are incomplete at the time the Commencement Program is printed. Identification of these students at graduation therefore is presumptive of honors and not conclusive, since final term grades may result in changes in relative rankings. For more information on honors cut points, please refer to the UCF Graduation Honors Cutpoints Web page at http://www.iroffice.ucf.edu/character/honorscutpoints.html.

Gonfalons

The gonfalon originated in the medieval state of Italy as an ensign of the state of office. The UCF gonfalons designate the university seal, the various colleges and the core values of the UCF Creed. The colors of the university, black and gold, are joined together in a UCF star common to all colleges.

Download a PDF with images of each College gonfalon with description, Adobe PDF format.

Diplomas

Approximately 6-10 weeks after Commencement, all baccalaureate and masters diplomas will be mailed to the address indicated on the student’s Intent to Graduate Form.

Diplomas will not be issued if the graduate’s record is on hold.

Student Accounts and the Registrar’s Office will notify students of any outstanding financial obligations prior to the Commencement ceremony. All financial obligations must be met in order to receive a diploma and official transcripts.
